Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 May 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using IELTS Memo ("the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and Pro subscribers.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of Service
IELTS Memo is an AI-powered writing feedback platform designed to help IELTS candidates improve their writing skills. The Service includes:
- AI-generated band score estimates across Task Achievement, Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range & Accuracy.
- Deep Feedback (Pro): paragraph rewrites, sentence-level upgrades, topic vocabulary lists, and a full Band 7+ revised essay.
- Error pattern tracking and personalised memory profiles built from your submitted essays.
- AI-guided writing assistance (Guide Mode) that provides live coaching as you write.
- Adaptive practice exercises tailored to your identified weaknesses.
- Vocabulary Builder: detection of overused words with AI-generated Band 7+ alternatives.
- Idea Bank: AI-generated argument brainstorming for Task 2 prompts.
- AI-generated IELTS-style task prompts.
3. No Guarantee of IELTS Scores
Our AI features are powered by Claude, a large language model developed by Anthropic. The AI is prompted to apply IELTS band descriptors as accurately as possible, but AI scoring is inherently imperfect and cannot replicate a certified human examiner. Feedback is for educational guidance and practice only.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that your essay content is processed by Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not use API-submitted data to train its models by default. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
4. Accounts & Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@ieltsmemo.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
